VCPoker is a UK-based online poker company named after either a rich guy named Victor Chandler or two rich guys named Victor and Chandler. Anyhow, any time you put a name on something you are making a cheap attempt to exhibit class, as if the name exhumed some sort of monarchial romance that would draw you to being a customer. In this review we seek to determine whether or not VCPoker is in the class of such moguls as Trump, Versace, Diddy - fools who believe if they can amass enough money they can live forever. I'm so jealous.

The Poker Website
Upon entering the VCPoker realm, you are immediately greeted by some hysterical clown who is bragging about his latest bluff. He talks about bluffing that flush and succeeding, which isn't surprising since online poker seems to be susceptible to flushes, straights and two players starting with pocket pairs. An obvious trick to encourage more action and bigger rakes. The real trick being, can you see when the trick is on you and take advantage of when the trick is on your opponent. Online poker is, after all, a completely different beast than table poker.
While VCPoker has a relatively clean interface, they occasionally make strange decisions that reflect rookie status. For example, I clicked on the "Why play poker" section, as if I needed a reason, and they had a picture of what either was a lumpy black dildo or some kind of video game joystick. Either way, they have nothing to do with poker, unless this was a promotion of gay strip poker. Then I understand.
Registering, Cashing and Playing Poker
On the banking front, you'll find limited deposit options in the United States, but a NETeller account should suffice. It seems VCPoker is primarily a Euro-based poker site, so as a Yankee dog I am already sharpening my teeth and pissing on fire hydrants. Games include Texas Hold 'em, Omaha and Omaha Hi/Lo. Tournaments include the standard junk, with maybe a speed tourney and freeroll thrown in here and there. As far as special tourneys are concerned, however, they offer their own event, the Victor Poker Cup, which has to be the stupidest name for a poker tournament, as Bill Walton would remark, in the history of Western civilization. Although I must admit it was quite ballsy for the brass at VCPoker to ignore the standard WPT and WSOP tourneys and make their own. Bravo. You have big balls.
Bonuses and Poker Promos
Initial deposits are greeted with a healthy 25% bonus, with a cap of $100. Bonuses are made available once you earn "Action points," which is another word for "Play a lot of hands, make us some money and we'll think about giving you your measly bonus." It's a familiar theme being spewed out in poker rooms and company buildings across the world. Referral bonuses are randomly awarded, which makes VCPoker's referral program the worst on the planet. There are also player of the month competitions for 100 Sterling and random giveaways of $1,000 to people seated at cash game tables. I'm not sure why some payouts are in dollars, others in Sterling. Why not stick to one currency? These conversions are killing me. I need to consult my abacus, my fourth grade math teacher and a physician just to figure out my deposits.

Well Sarah, I'm glad you seem to be making friends at VCPoker, because that's what it's really all about isn't it? Making the world a better place. And how do we go about making the world a better place? By making money woman, not friends. In any case, users like VCPoker, but they are Europeans who like being hairy and never taking showers.
The customer service area is also sketchy, with what looks like an international number and an email, probably manned by some psychotic giraffe. On the other hand, there is also a physical address listed, which provides you the opportunity to send naked pictures of yourself or one of those neat letters where you cut out all the letters from various magazines.
Overall Poker Rating
If you live outside the United States, VCPoker might work for you. You might even try betting the ol' football on the sportsbook, then transfer the money back to the poker room. Then you can leave your house, get fish and chips, then ride your backwards automobile into the ground. For the rest of us, it's hardly worth playing.
