RoyalVegasPoker at first glance
Royal Vegas Poker's online poker room promises professional conduct, good customer service and a number of satisfying games...and comes through with just that! I found the Terms and Conditions of the online poker room easily, but more important, they weren't written in unidentifiable legal jargon so I understood them easily. I moved on from there to the Help Screen, which included:
- Support Info: There were 5 email addresses (for different divisions) and 13 phone numbers (for 13 countries)
- FAQs: There were 8 links to common inquiries
- Getting Started
- Free Software
- Site Map: Very helpful tool if you've forgotten where to find something
I suggest using the email addresses and the phone numbers provided if you have never played at an online poker room before. If you can get through to the casino's live online customer service, I'm sure the agents there must be quite helpful. If you take a quicker route and email support, a representative will actually respond. I emailed support at 4:00 p.m. on a Friday afternoon and received a response in half an hour. My question wasn't answered to my full satisfaction, though. If you would like a quick response from Marketing, don't hold your breath. However, the Royal Vegas Poker's telephone support agent was quick to pick up, polite, swift with response to my questions, but unfortunately, hard to understand. The connection wasn't fantastic and his accent caused a slight barrier, but of all the support choices, he responded best to my questions.
Online Poker Reviews
Royal Vegas Poker received good reviews all around. It generated very little complaint from reviewers and chatters. Most agreed that the online poker room offered a secure environment, a good bonus offer, a great selection of poker games and an outstanding bonus. Some thought the response to support queries was slow but "personalized, relevant and effective." I agreed that the traffic and friendly competitors on Royal Vegas Poker were a plus but complained alongside chatters about the limits on fun money chips (you are allowed 2K in play money chips each 24 hour period). The $10 sign-up bonus was popular with everyone.
Sign-up and Play
Signing up was simple and quick. I was able to download the software and play poker online without registration delays. I received my bonus less than 24 hours after I signed up and I didn't have to buy anything or play with "real" money to get it. However, if you don't add to the $10 to increase your funds, you are limited in your choice of poker tables.
Once I dealt with my funds, I stumbled into the lobby. At first, it was hard to navigate. I wanted to practice with free online poker before I tried the real thing. I figured it out eventually and sat down at a table. I discovered a few things:
- The help system was easy to find
- If my PC crashed, the software automatically reconnected me
- A handy counter kept track of my losses and wins
- At the side of my screen, a commentary screen ran, telling me exactly what was going on and I could use it to chat with my opponents
- I liked Texas Hold 'em poker
- Poker tips and poker rules were available to me
I discovered a few things about real play as well:
- Wagering was simple and quick
- There were many options for wagering - the multiple poker tables had all kinds of betting limits and stakes
- There were 5 different games and many tournaments to participate in
- I could take whatever amount of money I wanted to the table and the handy counter was still there to keep track of my losses and wins
- There was a pull-up display of all of my stats that I could reset at any time
Fund Withdrawal
The bank at Royal Vegas Poker was easy to operate. The links to withdraw, deposit and make other account transactions were at hand. I discovered, with help from my friendly phone agent, that with NETeller I can withdraw funds and receive them within 24-72 hours but if I've been using my credit card, it will take at least 7 days for Royal Vegas Poker to send me a check honoring my withdrawal.
Promotions
Once I turned off my pop-up blocker, I found promotions popped up as soon as I opened Royal Vegas Poker. As I have mentioned, the $10 bonus is a good deal and my first pop-up advertisement was for The Road to the World Series of Poker. I found the "Refer A Friend and get $50 (credit)" promotion interesting. Sounds great, right? Let me expand - refer a friend who must deposit a minimum of $20 and play 250 raked hands at tables with limits no lower than $0.25/$0.50 within 30 days. Hmmm...make sure you understand the bonuses and promotions before you get excited about them.
