Summary Review
|
: |
Noble Poker is a poker room that offers hold 'em, omaha and both omaha hi and lo. They are also involved in the sponsorship of a "World Poker Team," which I can only assume is a group of poker players who travel around the world challenging others to poker duels and hot nakedness. Oh wait, that's the "World Strip Poker Team."
In any case, with some considering the term Noble Poker to be an oxymoron, and with myself included in that some, it has become my duty to investigate the facts as to whether this was a breakthrough in civility or a disgusting case of false advertising.

A Casino Feel
Noble Poker sports a very, very green website, the kind of green you find on felt. Hell, even the chips are green, which makes one wonder why you would play with green chips on a green table. In addition to the snooty name, Noble Poker also sports a picture of a crown, as if someone died and crowned them King of England. Yes, all and all a high claim for a company from Antigua. Nevertheless, in spite of all the camouflaged links, the key to whether navigation is easy is contingent on the downloadable software, not the website itself. Kind of like how betting on the Timberwolves is contingent on the unpredictable heads of Wally Sczerbiak, Latrell "Feed my Family" Sprewell and the crazed maniac Eddie Griffin. Okay, so perhaps the Timberwolves have too many variables to be a suitable analogy. In any case, Noble Poker's software suffices as an online poker machine. Of course, whenever inspecting poker software it's interesting to note what kind of pictures the company uses to represent you. The women are, as expected, large breasted women, and as for the men we have the requisite cowboys and...Derek Jeter? Yes, you too can be Derek Jeter playing poker. Or at least someone who looks a lot like him.
Registering for Gambling Online
Once you have downloaded their specialty software, you can embark on the path of registration. The system also allows for adjustable settings, such as music, dealer sounds and even player sounds. If only they could pay Steven Seagal to do the dealer voices. As for depositing funds, most online casino gambling aficionados choose to use third parties like Neteller or Firepay, but the fees can be unbearable. Now Noble Poker does offer credit cards, but since they charge it directly to the house and not a separate business to hide the transaction, it probably won't go through. Besides, with ten to fifteen percent in bonuses by using the third parties or wire transfers, the fees end up being close enough to a wash where you can live with it.
Casino Poker Bonuses and Promotions
With any poker website, it's imperative that large stakes tournaments are available for the picking, especially with this so-called "poker craze" captivating the nation. Noble Poker provides a weekly $10,000 guaranteed tournament, as well as value satellites for a value buy-in. There are also four daily freeroll tournaments, where you can compete at no cost for what is termed "real cash prizes." This is much better than the always horrifying "fake cash prizes," which is kind of what Anna Nicole Smith got when she married that deceased fellow.
As for actual cash bonuses, you receive 25% up to $100 on initial deposits. Bonuses are cashable once you play ten raked hands for every dollar received. There are also top hand bonuses for anything above four Kings, which can net you a cool $250 and a bad beat bonus if you lose a hand with the same requirements, four Kings or better. Chances of this happening? Not very good, but you never know.
Online Gambling Customer Service
Noble Poker has a staff of customer service people working 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. They have live support, emails and toll free phone lines. In addition, they are equipped with both an international and domestic line and more importantly, the staff is full of English speakers. After all, nothing is more frustrating than trying to explain a problem and having the person on the other line only understand half the words you are saying. Correction, there is one thing that is more frustrating, going all in to raise a guy out and having him call with a flush draw, only to hit it on the river. Yes, I'm a bitter man. In any case, Noble Poker staff not only answers the phone quickly, but is very helpful. They sound a little bit less than cheery, but personally I prefer an honest person rather than the fake happiness. Thank you for calling!!!! What a load of bull. So I definitely throw kudos for stressing service over feigned excitement. Besides, what do you expect? These hard working individuals are working 24 hours straight, 365 days a year. Thank God for leap years, else these people would never get a day off.
Overall Online Gambling Experience
Noble Poker may not offer a consistent large stakes tournament(depending on whether you view $10,000 as high stakes, but I think high stakes have to be at least 20), but they do offer a chance to play in the WPT, which next to the WSOP has to be the most popular tournament on television. In fact, the WPT is a lot like the old AFL and ABA, where you can make a name for yourself and be on television despite not playing in the so-called ultimate league. And like the old ABA and AFL, I'd have to give the exposure a slight dog to the WSOP, but it still is worth a good rating. Plus, the site isn't too bad either.
