The Poker Website
Seriously though, why did they have to name the site MVP Poker? When I hear MVP Poker, the first thing that comes to my mind is a steroid enhanced professional athlete crushing the records of honest sports heroes. WHY?
The site itself represents a mudslide gone crazy, with the site mostly represented by a chocolate mocha color. The borders of the home page are attractive, but can be very cluttered and hard to read because of smaller text.
The menu for the poker games dares to be different and places the links to the left instead of the standard tabs at the top of the window.
Online Poker Registration and Cashier
The download of the software was easy, barring the fact that if you have a pop up blocker you might need to disable it. Software was quick and easy to load, once downloaded, and the registration was full of the usual text box filling fun. Once signed up, the usual PIN and password are emailed and then you are off and running to their land of gambling.
Money transaction services include: NETeller, Check, Bank Wire, Credit Card and other forms of bank wire.
Bonuses and Poker Promotions
Current promotions include a 20% bonus on NETeller deposits of more than $100.
- New Account Bonus
When you open an account with $200 or more, you are awarded a 10% Immediate Cash Bonus into your wagering account.
- Re-Deposit Bonus
When you re-deposit $200 or more in new funds you are awarded a 10% Immediate Cash Bonus. Money withdrawn and then re-deposited does not qualify for the re-deposit bonus.
- Referral Bonus
When you refer a friend who deposits $200 or more you are awarded a 10% Cash Bonus based on their deposit amount. Referral bonuses are credited every Tuesday for referrals received for the previous week. Maximum referral bonus is $200.
- Help Bonus
Let MVP know anything they can do to improve the site or service. If they implement your suggestion, they will credit you $50 into your wagering account.
- Promo Bucks
Promo Bucks can't be used until freed. Promo Bucks show in a separate column and not in the player's account directly as real money, until they are freed. A deposit must be made and real Rake must be paid in order to free up the Promo bucks. When you play a hand, fifty percent (50%) of the rake of every hand is credited towards Promo Bucks. When the amount reaches $5, the system automatically credits that amount as Real Money into your account. In other words, Promo Bucks are similar to a rebate in rake. Once you play enough real money hands, they will be converted into Real Money in amounts of $5 at a time. They can hence be used to pay for tournaments or to be cashed out with the rest of your money.
Apparently they aren't too keen on pumping quality promotions and depend on their attractive mocha colored decor to draw clients into their denizen of wagering.
Online Poker Customer Service
This site does not offer live support services (yet, there is a link, but apparently it is coming soon), but does offer decent email response.
In my humble opinion, I would merely like to state the fact that live support is a luxury that seems to be provided by the more successful online poker sites that can afford it. I am not saying to avoid the creamy brown design of MVP Poker, but you know what I mean.
Overall Poker Rating
The site offers very little bonus options, while offering the standard wagering and game options. Why would online players choose this site over the myriad of others? Two words - chocolate goodness. It is undeniable that after the time I have been spending checking out this site, the creamy color has grown on me and I now undeniably want to spend more time here - but something tells me this might not work on all people.
