Lucky Nugget Online Casino seems to try and catch potential clients' attention with their obscure obsession with blue. Why does the site have to have so much damn blue? To top that off, the logo seems to be playing off of an old school Las Vegas theme, reminiscent of the days when old Franky blue eyes wooed the masses of mafia. Aside from the scrolling information ticker reel, the site seems rather stagnant without flashing bells and whistles telling you to try this and sign up for that. Some people might like the simplicity while others might feed off of their ADD and go to a more attention-grabbing poker site.
Why does it seem that every online poker site has to have some type of entry into the World Series of Poker? Yes, it's true that everyone would like to win a free trip into the Series, but everyone would also like to win the lottery. You don't see lines and lines of people lining up to buy lottery tickets everyday and neither will people hop onto an online poker site merely for a chance to win a seat at the Series. Something more original definitely has to arise from these sites - especially this site, otherwise the sea of blue will definitely drown you!
Online Poker Registration and Cashier
Overall navigation is simple along with the download and install of the software. Signing up is just the same as any other site, with the standard info requested. However, why they ask for a SSN is rather curious, but at least they make it optional. Deposits can be made through NETeller, Citadel, FirePay, Visa, MasterCard, Diner's Club, PaySpark, Click2Pay and all the other old credit cards/check/bank wire combos.
Bonuses and Poker Promotions
Currently they offer the opportunity to get $300 by signing up with $20. They accomplish this feat by having players accumulate points to exchange for this generous sum of money. The site also offers free rolls for new signups and periodic free roll tourneys. Finally, they give a $50 referral bonus fee for each friend that signs up and downloads their software with an initial deposit of $30 (whew!). The amount of bonuses and their appeal power are lacking, but the World Series seat opportunity somewhat (and I emphasize somewhat) makes up for it.
Online Poker Customer Service
An email address is posted, as is a toll-free phone number and the help section provides useless info on how to play. The response time for an email was a bit lacking (up to 2 days to respond!) and the fact that there is no live support draws my eyes back and makes me wonder how legit they really are.
Overall Poker Rating
If your sister was new to poker and wanted to learn how to play online, I would point her here. This site definitely will not enthuse the avid bonus hunter or hardcore poker fanatic. It is a very basic site that seems to have been thrown together from the structure of the other 100's of poker sites that now grace the online world.
