Summary Review
|
: |
In case you are in a quandary as to what making lines and by the same token Linesmaker Poker has to with the great game of poker, remember that Linesmaker Poker was a sportsbook first and a poker room second. Unless, of course, the casino came first, but we'll leave that mystery to the internet historians and perverts who write it. What is more interesting is that Linesmaker Poker is a complete rip-off of the famed ESPN.com, but that does not mean it is some small entity struggling to get by. As part of the huge Sportingbet conglomerate based in the UK, you can be assured Linesmaker Poker has the cash to spend, but does it have the players?

The Poker Website
As I originally stated, the interface of the website is an exact replica of the sports powerhouse ESPN.com. The colors, the look, everything about it, right down to little orange-yellowish section that's reserved for Page 2. Under normal circumstances it would be time to alert the authorities, yet I for one hate the pigs and their insatiable appetite for injustice. After all, who will police the Police when they make crummy pop music that gets sampled by the Puff Diddly Puff? Do you not remember the rampage he and that fellow Mase brought when they sampled everything from Diana Ross to the seven-year-old down the street holding a tambourine? Mo' Money Mo' Problems indeed. I wish I had more problems.
As far as Linesmaker Poker is concerned, they offer things for beginners such as poker school and poker terms, although if you really wanted to learn inane poker lingo, perhaps you should just spend five minutes with the WPT's Vince Van Patten. His useless knowledge of poker terminology is enough to make your head explode with rage, to the point where I have dug a six foot hole in my backyard and marked it "Reserved for V.V.P."
Online Poker and Registration
Registering for an account with Linesmaker Poker, like most sites, involves releasing the vital information that separates you from the marketers. Addresses, email, phone numbers, all things that choke your relative freedom, but things that must be divulged if you are to get your poker fix. Once inside, you'll find Texas Hold 'em and 7 card stud games, but not much else. The pickings are slim folks and it's clear that the people at Linesmaker Poker are too busy making and snorting lines to have created a decent poker room. However, if you are some kind of hormonal masochist and depositing your money with these gentleman is your idea of a good time, then you'll be happy to know that almost any device is quick and easy with Sportingbet's EFS system, allowing credit, NETeller, FirePay and electronic check deposits, while also providing extremely fast, automated payouts.
If you were to click on tournament information, you'll be whisked away to a blank page with a large World Series of Poker chip. Linesmaker Poker makes no mention of actually having a satellite for the WSOP, but merely place a picture of what I feel is quite a conspicuous chip. The bastards are attempting some kind of trickery, some wicked tomfoolery. Be wary, you lepers, be wary.
Bonuses and Poker Promotions
Initial deposits are granted 15% up to $500 for your gambling pleasure. As you can see, Linesmaker Poker is truly one of the fattest of the fat cats, for a $500 bonus is no small deal. In addition, you receive $20 after playing 100 raked hands and $80 more after reaching 400. Referral bonuses are 20% up to $100 and reloads are given 10%, which is common in sportsbook land but almost unheard of in poker world. Perhaps there are some advantages to the sportsbook angle.
On the promotion front, upon the dealing of the 25 millionth hand there will be monies distributed in the amount of $7,000 to various parties. Not as exciting as actual cash, but it's there, take it however you please.
Online Poker Customer Service
With a company as large as Sportingbet, you can be assured all their affiliates, including one as miniscule as Linesmaker Poker, will get the adequate people to serve your problematic situations. Live chat, email or by Mr. Bell's invention, you can reach a service representative quickly and they are all helpful. Once again, I advise using the chat feature, where you can imagine the reps actually look like the pictures of them they have online. Unless they tell you their name is Eduardo, which kills the entire fantasy. Oh Eduardo, you're so hairy! A disgusting thought, yet at the same time strangely intriguing...
Overall Poker Rating
In short, Linesmaker Poker offers nothing save for the assuring knowledge that a site can be completely ripped off and still maintain itself for over a year. Despite the amazing bonus offers, I'd have to say the faculties of Linesmaker Poker are probably best suited for the sportsbook game and I say this with much tenderness when I suggest that they hang and crucify the poker room altogether, although not necessarily in that order. Then again, those bonuses are awfully attractive.
