Summary Review
|
: |
If you are looking for a game at Fair Poker, it may be time to adjust your viewing tendencies, cue the massage lady and drop the acid, for you'll soon find Fair Poker offers the option of one of the only vertical tables on the internet. Furthermore, you'll find some good promotions and an endorsement from poker playing nobody, Tina Sue. Who is Tina Sue, you ask? Don't ask me preposterous questions like that! That's like asking who Tiger Woods is! Yeah. If you haven't figured it out yet, I'm ducking this question, because the truth is no one on earth knows who Tina Sue is and no one on earth cares. On to the review.

The Poker Website
In the world of endorsements, who the endorser is is a reflection of how big you are as a business. For example, a large company like say, McDonalds, is going to have guys like LeBron James, Michael Jordan and Justin Timberlake pimping their product, while a company like AFLAC is going to throw you the proverbial Gilbert Godfrey and talking goose sandwich. Now I knew nothing of Fair Poker prior to this review, yet I gathered a seemingly large amount of intelligence, the CIA kind, based on their chief endorser being "professional" Tina Sue. That's right, it's Tina Sue, the Wayne Brady of the poker world. She gives tips on etiquette, how to be a happy loser and the difference between "land based" and online poker. Personally, I prefer "space based" poker and I could care less about etiquette, lest I would attend a poker finishing school.
In addition to these "tips" there is also a bio, where Fair Poker not only treats us to a history of Tina's wins(zero), but certain tidbits of her life, such as the intimate fact that she is dating. Oh, but who? Perhaps recent events with Brad and Jen have been the result of Tina's wiles. To that I say, who cares? I propose they all should be buried alive, without a cent to their name to pay the ferryman. It's poker we want and poker we demand.
As for the poker site, it's done with remarkable class. If Tina's unattractive appearance were missing, I might be inclined to say this was the best designed site I've seen. That is, until you enter the actual poker table. For some strange reason, Fair Poker decided, probably on the pure motive to be different, to situate their table vertically instead of horizontally. At least, they were smart enough or should I say not dumb enough, to put the cards horizontally, else my neck be permanently stuck at a 75 degree angle. Of course, you do have the option of turning the table back to a bird's eye view and I suppose if I had noticed this three sentences earlier I would not have made a fool of myself. In any case, there are ten seats to a table and all the chairs look comfy. Virtually.
Online Poker Registration and Cashier
Requirements for the download are a 400Mhz machine and 128 MB of RAM, all things you should have acquired sometime in the late 90's. Here you make important decisions such as view, what you will look like, dealer sounds, player sounds, the sound of music, things of this nature that people in West Hollywood concern themselves with. You can also chat with your fellow poker players, which I assume was a device built only to annoy me. When someone tells me to "laugh out loud" I usually am inclined to bash his face in.
As far as the cashier goes, expect the standard deposit tools - NETeller, FirePay, Citadel, etc. Yet depositing is never the problem, is it? You are concerned with the payouts, as well you should be, with fat cats hoarding your money like warm milk. Well, I sent the query to the withdrawal team at Fair Poker and they assured me most payouts are processed within a week.
Bonuses and Poker Promotions
After clicking on the humongous bonus ad, I was expecting to see information on the welcome bonus. However, I was immediately transported to a section on Omaha Hi/Low, to which I concluded I should either stop drinking or start complaining. Luckily, after doing some Indiana Jones type archeological work, I was able to find another link that took me to the correct information, as well as the location of Karl Malone's grave. What I learned is that a 25% bonus, up to $100, is granted on initial deposits and that somehow it appears Karl Malone is still alive. What is he, like ninety? As for actually cashing out your deposit, as with most poker sites, you must play about a billion raked hands to ever see it.
On the tournament front, you'll find little to wet your appetite, with tournaments capping around $500 daily and with only one super satellite offered to the WPT. Nothing is offered at Fair Poker that will give you the opportunity to elevate to greatness. As the mailman would say, Karl Malone want a ring!!!
Online Poker Customer Service
When looking at customer service, it's always important to first inspect the picture of the model they use to represent their employees. For the more attractive she is, the larger the suspicion on my part as to what these people are hiding. After all, a good customer service department does not need to resort to sex trickery and hijinks. In the case of Fair Poker, their model is a cute redhead, but not overwhelmingly cute enough for me to suspect them of employing five chimpanzees as their service team. However, when they make claim of an "immediate response" they are referring to an automated response indicating they'll respond whenever they feel like. And even the automated response takes half an hour to deliver. I found the phone service to be equally tortoise-like, although they were not manned by automated robots as I expected.
Overall Poker Rating
If I were to scale Fair Poker by its mere comedic factors, I would have to give it a zillion stars, thanks to our friend Tina. Yet this is not a comedy contest and although I am happy to know Tina is dating, I could care less when the daily tournaments are no higher than $500 and the best promotion they can offer is a super satellite tourney for the WPT.
