When it comes to pancakes, the international house makes a mockery of decent business, charging a king's ransom for scrambled eggs, bacon and, of course, pancakes. When it comes to Bowmans Poker, although they are not the type of site that will charge you money, they do have something in common with their pancake cohort. They're both a complete waste of time.

The Poker Website
Right away you notice that Bowmans Poker pimps their sportsbook even in their poker section, a clear sign of sports betting priorities. They do boast that they have about 1,500 players at about 180 tables online daily, which is an astonishing number considering their seeming lack of popularity in the message board community. And by popularity, I'm talking about the "who's that" lack of popularity, not the "I hate them" kind. Then again, if you do the math, that accounts for 8.33 players on every table, which is virtually impossible if you've ever been to any poker site. Something is fishy here and the fact that I noticed said fish will cost someone his head. I hope the fat cats are kind to this person, for even the CIA are known at times to leave their legs wide open and let out the stink.
Registering, Cashing and Playing Poker
Once you've registered and deposited through one of their strange European channels, you are ready to play. Unfortunately, the games are limited to Texas Hold 'em and 7 Card Stud, so be ready to play one of these two games or you'll be ready for the wrong thing entirely. Their graphics are of high quality, but the players are all invisible ghosts. Personally, I like to see a picture of somebody sitting at my table holding my cards, lest they blow away in the wind and who will be responsible when that happens. Certainly not the house.
Furthermore, with nothing I like more than school, it's refreshing to find my teacher at Bowmans Poker is Kate Szeremeta, who resembles one of those Russian mail order brides I ordered last year. A horrible experience, especially when I went to Fedex and tried to find a package big enough to send her back to Russia. In any case, her favorite place is her bed and she wishes for world peace. A perfect candidate for Miss Universe.
Bonuses and Poker Promos
Bowmans Poker doesn't offer a set promotion, but it is a variable thing that succumbs to the whims of the daily "poker news," a small section on the front of the website. Today the news tells us of such pseudo-bonuses like "look at our poker teacher's profile" and "seats to a tournament are available." However, if you work your way past the nonsense, you'll find there is a $30 bonus for 100 raked hands played, which goes up to $100 once you reach the magical 500. Not even Phil Jackson got $100 for his five hundredth win. Then again, his salary was about 5 million, so it's hardly competitive as to who you would rather be.
Online Poker Service
Bowmans Poker has two customer service areas, one for poker related queries only and one for account related queries only. They are very specific about this and I'd hate to see you locked in a dungeon with man-eating crocodiles if you call the poker number and have an account question. Wait, you're telling me they both are the same phone number? Then how do you know who you're getting? At least the emails are different. My advice is to stick with those, the crocodiles must already have a taste for human blood.
Overall Poker Rating
Bowmans Poker represents a growing trend of sportsbooks and casinos trying to get into the poker craze. For the most part, they offer some beneficial factors, like size and World Series of Poker satellites. On the other hand, their bonuses and overall tourney presence is lacking and there seems to be this blase attitude about the whole thing.
